If you choose to play EDC, I try to bring something practical and harmonious. If it has a traditional Chinese style, I will like it a lot. So, my EDC is slowly starting to change. Some time ago, I saw some players starting to play with fans. Traditional fans such as bamboo fans were difficult to care for and maintain, so I probably couldn't take care of them. Then titanium fans appeared, and there were several brands at that time, but I didn’t pay much attention to issues such as the feel of the fans when opening and closing them. When I felt that the relationship between the titanium fan and myself was about to end like this, I found that recently many EDC equipment groups had begun to talk more about the titanium fan. Upon closer inspection, I found that these fans are also produced by FEGVE. In view of my fondness for other FEGVE equipment and my understanding of FEGVE Lao Wu’s craftsmanship that is devoted to technology, I thought about it and decided to try the FEGVE titanium fan.
When I received the titanium fan, I also thought of martial arts such as Chu Liuxiang, which I was obsessed with as a child. Yes, at that time I was very interested in Zheng Shaoqiu and his fans. Far beyond the reach of those reckless men with sharp weapons. Thinking of this, if I now use a titanium fan as an EDC, it seems to echo some of my childhood memories, which is also a good thing. In this way of thinking, I found that titanium fans are indeed what I like, so I bought three of them in one go. Of course, there is no need to ask about the brand, it is FEGVE, and the three are different versions of it. I will call them the first, second and third generations. The third generation will be shown separately. In my opinion, the third generation is the high-end version of the second generation. The overall structure is the same, with relief processing on the outer end and customized inlays with gold, silver, copper and other materials. Patterns are also available. You can see that my relief inlay is bamboo pattern. This series includes plum, orchid, bamboo, chrysanthemum and other traditional styles. However, the craftsmanship is complicated and the price is high, so the brand never produces it in large quantities. For this reason, as a collection, the three generations with distinctive relief inlays can be said to be unique, and the significance of the collection is even more valuable.
Next open the fan. The first and second generations have white fans. The third generation is black. The fan surface is made of Sugong ultra-thin leather, which is durable and easy to write on. FEGVE adopts Sugong's traditional craftsmanship for bonding the fan surface, that is, using cow bone glue for bonding. However, it is explained here that the titanium fan originally intended by FEGVE was designed to cater to the niche players who have played with traditional fans such as bamboo fans. Therefore, the original craft draws on many traditional craft methods. At this time, a problem arose that FEGVE had never thought of. Because titanium fans have become popular, I think I have never played with other fans before. I started playing Taifan because of curiosity, or because of feelings (Chu Liuxiang), or for some other reason. We think that some traditional craftsmanship, such as the bonding of beef bone glue, has an odor. It smells bad! .....Well, because of this feedback, FEGVE seems to be launching some odorless fans bonded with modern industrial glue in the future. The price seems to be lower... Having said that, I am also confused. For players, there is no odor and the price is lower. Is it better?
The processing of the small fan bones achieves uniform thickness and consistent angles. Very thin and light. At the same time, because of the titanium alloy, it can have the toughness to withstand bending in such a thin state.
After stone washing, the surface of the small fan bone becomes beautiful and wear-resistant.

All three are shown together again. You can see that the third-generation fan handle at the bottom has colorful textures. This is more colorful based on the original relief inlay. This may be due to the deliberate adjustment of the current parameters of the slow wire during the folding process, so that different currents and sparks (temperature) bake the titanium alloy into different colors. This process is very troublesome. Poor current control may cause abnormal folding lines of the fan handle, and some may be damaged accidentally. Then the backside of the three fans I held may have been ruined a lot during the processing... Well, the pursuit of materials and craftsmanship, for example, brought about price differences. Fortunately, it is said that FEGVE may also produce some entry-level or youth versions in the future.
